Cycles was designed for use in books and other publications with lengthy texts and/or complex typography using different sizes of type.

Different versions of Cycles have been designed which are optimized for setting at specific point sizes as was the practice in the days of metal type.

Together with Stone Print, SFPL, and Arepo it makes up a superfamily of typefaces.
