Arrow Heaven has 2480 different arrows and pointers, all inside a conventional sans-serif typeface designed to be useful in signage and transport, and also map and chart-making or technical drawings.
There’s 2 ways of getting the arrows - the simplest is using the Character Map to pick what you want and pasting it into the program, even into Basic Word Processors.
Alternatively you just type in a simple phrase of text to produce the exact arrow you want, and the font does the rest - the details are in the zip file, it’s very, very simple - and there’s plenty of explanation and examples included. You can instruct any arrow to point in the 8 main directions, and have it in 5 different thicknesses. There’s 62 different arrow shapes, and each has 40 different variations (in orientation and size). However you'll need a program that supports OTF ligatures to produce the arrows in this way, and you'll need to download the zip to get the instructions, but it’s really easy. The examples on the web-page give you an idea of what’s available.
The sans-serif typeface contains a full set of letters, numbers and punctuation etc. - everything you're likely to want in any sign for a wide variety of European languages, and there’s 3 weights (2 quite heavy for display, one lighter for normal text) which are great for clear signs and information boards, or for text on charts and maps.
